🇪🇸 Chanel signs record deal with Sony Music Spain

A few months after her participation in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, it has been revealed that Spain’s 2022 representative Chanel has signed a record deal with Sony Music Spain, home to artists such as Beyonce, Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas, and Rosalia.

A collaboration with Columbia Records

In addition to her signing with Sony Music Spain, it was also revealed that Chanel has also signed with Podwall Entertainment for management and Creative Artist Agency (CAA) and Ziffren Brittenham LLP for legal matters. Sony Music Spain’s president Jose Maria Barbat has mentioned the following:

At Sony Music we are excited about the addition of Chanel to our roster of artists, a woman of great talent and enormous tenacity. Her perseverance has allowed her to achieve a dream, by taking a modern and determined proposal to Eurovision and becoming a phenomenon like her for many years that she had not remembered. Chanel is one of the levers of internationalization of Spanish music. For this reason, her signing fits in with our commitment to promoting Spanish talent so that it shines in the world

In addition, it was also revealed that Chanel’s record deal includes a collaboration with Columbia Records in France, for the internationalization and European development of the Chanel project, with the aim of having Chanel’s debut album released by 2023. After the confirmation, Chanel mentioned she’s excited to release new music:

I am excited to join the Sony Music family and release new music together soon. We have started an incredible journey that is only the beginning of things to come

Chanel’s Eurovision Journey

In 2022, Spain selected Chanel to represent Spain in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry “Slo Mo”, after winning the national selection Benidorm Fest. Upon her participation in the contest, Chanel ended placing 3rd overall, after receiving 459 points from the professional juries and televoters combined.
