After confirming their participation in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, Lithuania’s broadcaster LRT has confirmed that it will once again be using Pabandom Iš Naujo to select their representative for Liverpool
Submissions are open until December 12
The submissions for the next edition of Pabandom Iš Naujo are now open and will close on December 12. For the 2023 edition of the competition, at least 20 entries would be competing to be Lithuania’s next Eurovision representative. A maximum of five shows (2x Heats, 2x Semi-Finals, and a Live Final), but could be reduced depending on the number of participants. The shows are due to commence in January 2023.
Lithuania’s Head of Delegation Audrius Giržadas had the following to say about the 2023 selection:
Every year, the Eurovision Song Contest unites and gathers people in front of television screens throughout Lithuania, Europe and even the world. This is not only an important tradition, but also a unique opportunity to show this huge audience the work of Lithuanian music artists, who we are often proud of within the country.
In recent years, in order to further raise the bar for the quality of the Eurovision national selection, we have provided support to the contestants. We will continue this, because we hope that in the selections we will see and hear both artists who attract full arenas and talented artists who are even less heard by the Lithuanian audience

Lithuania’s Eurovision journey

Since then, Lithuania has participated 21 times and made the Grand Final 14 times. LT United gave Lithuania their best ever Eurovision result back in 2006, where the country placed 6th.
Lithuania’s latest Eurovision participation, saw them being represented by Monika Liu, participating with the song “Sentimentai”. Qualifying for the final, Lithuania finished on 14th place overall, with 128 points.
