As Liverpool gears up to host Eurovision 2023, added details regarding Ukraine’s presence at the Contest have been revealed by Ukraine’s national broadcaster, Suspilne.
Several Ukrainian artists to be involved, says Suspilne Chairman
Speaking to UA News, the Chairman of Suspilne Media, Mykola Chornotytskyi, revealed that one host in the Contest will be Ukrainian. He reiterated the BBC is committed to host the Contest on behalf of the Ukrainian broadcaster. He added:
Eurovision 2023 is a dual-challenge for the broadcaster. We have close cooperation with the BBC on a professional and strategic level, we signed a memorandum. There will definitely be a presenter from Ukraine, we know who, but we cannot say. In general, the British are very open to involve Ukraine in the process as much as possible. They say that they are organizing the Eurovision Song Contest, but on behalf of Ukraine.

In addition to this, the Suspilne chairman outlined the musical contributions from Ukraine. Chornotytskyi said that Dmytro Shurov has been tasked with handling music for the Contest. Shurov is a familiar face in the Ukrainian music industry. He has been a judge on the Ukrainian version of The X Factor, as well as being the Creative Director for Vidbir 2023.
To add to this, Chornotytskyi added that multiple Ukrainian artists will be present in Liverpool. These artists may not be singing, but may act or perform in other ways. However, Creative Director for Ukraine at Eurovision 2023 Herman Nenov outlined the importance of these elements:
There will be a large number of Ukrainian artists who will be announced in various shows. If everything works out for us and everything will be as we planned, I can confidently say that this will probably be the largest number of integrations of Ukrainian artists in the Eurovision show compared to 2005 and 2017. These will be different integrations – it is not necessary that this person will sing on stage. She can act in any role. But a Ukrainian musician, the face of Ukraine will appear in the show,
