Today the first rehearsals for Eurovision 2023 continue in Liverpool. Countries rehearsing on Day 2 include Israel, Azerbaijan, Czechia, The Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Armenia, Romania, Belgium, and Cyprus. The tenth and final to rehearse today is Cyprus’ Andrew Lambrou.
Andrew Lambrou’s first rehearsal
The tenth to take to the Eurovision 2023 stage at Liverpool Arena in Liverpool today was Andrew Lambrou. Andrew Lambrou will be competing in this year’s competition with his entry “Break a Broken Heart” following his internal selection by Cypriot broadcaster CyBC.
Following Andrew Lambrou’s first rehearsal a clip of what went on was posted on the official TikTok account of the Eurovision Song Contest. The clip showed Andrew Lambrou before and after he took to the Eurovision stage for the first time, as well as giving us some insight into how well his first rehearsal went.
What did we learn about Andrew Lambrou’s staging?
It’s an elemental staging for Andrew Lambrou, who performs with LEDs showing waterfalls transitioning to fire. He appears on stage solo, wearing a nicely-tailored black outfit. The liveblog has focused on his vocal performance, which is described as “sublime”, with drums which are vibrating through the arena floor. Cyprus also bringing the IRL fire in this one, with floor smoke and four jets of flame!
