San Marino’s 2023 representatives Piqued Jacks aren’t letting a nul-points finish keep them down. Despite their disappointing semifinal result, the Italian band have announced a number of live shows both in their native Italy and abroad.

Where the f**k are Piqued Jacks?

In (perhaps) a callback to Austria’s 2023 entry “Who the Hell is Edgar?”, Piqued Jacks announced their shows with the headline, “Who the F**k are Piqued Jacks?” and added, “this Summer we’ll answer that f**king question.”

The majority of the announced dates are in the band’s home country of Italy. They kick off their summer dates opening for Tom Morello and The Who at Firenze Rocks on 17 June, before shows in Pesaro (29 June), Carpi (1 July), and Sestri Levante (19 August).

However, they’ve also announced three dates outside of Italy. They’ll appear at San Marino Eurolive on 23 July, at Campo Bruno Reffi in the country they represented at Eurovision after winning Una Voce Per San Marino 2023. Additionally, they’ll be at Focus in the Park on 26 August in Sibiu, Romania. And, perhaps most exciting for this international Eurovision fan, they’ll open for The Pretty Reckless in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the United States, on 7 July.

Summerfest, the Milwaukee festival at which they’ll appear, has been running since 1968 and was at one time “the world’s largest music festival.” Romania’s Focus in the Park will feature other Eurovision alums; so far, three-time Moldovan representative Zdob ศ™i Zdub and 2022 winner Kalush Orchestra have confirmed attendance.

What’s coming next?

Piqued Jacks have confirmed on Twitter that they’ve returned to the studio, saying, “[a]fter some rest, the emotions we brought back from Liverpool turned into creative energy.” They’ll be shifting their focus not only to new music but also to live shows–and indeed, their show announcement graphic does say that more dates will be forthcoming.

Who Are Piqued Jacks?

Hailing from the small commune of Buggiano in Tuscany, the band have nearly two decades of experience in the music industry, having formed in 2006. The band consists of Andrea Lazzaretti (Vocalist), Francesco Bini (Bassist, vocalist), Marco Sgaramella (Guitarist, vocalist), and Tommaso Olivieri (drummer).

The band have commercially released four albums, with the most recent being โ€˜Syncroniserโ€™, and are no newcomers to music competitions, having won the 2019 edition of Sanremo Rock.

Piqued Jacks beat out nearly 100 other competitors to represent San Marino at Eurovision this year with their song “Like An Animal.” The band performed in the second semi-final, but unfortunately didn’t qualify for the Grand Final. Overall, San Marino placed joint-last, receiving 0 points from the televote.
