๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช Mustii’s Eurovision 2024 entry to be released in February

After being announced as Belgium’s Eurovision 2024 representative, it was revealed that Mustii’s entry for Eurovision 2024 is set to be released in February.

“My idea is to go to the Eurovision Song Contest with my own DNA”

Speaking to VRT News, Mustii talked about his reaction being asked to represent Belgium, as well as other questions.

When asked about his music style, he describes this as pop with a dark edge:

My style is evolving towards pop with a dark edge. I have influences from new wave and rock, but they remain pop albums. I contrast pop with fragile subjects, I like to play with that

Mustii also mentioned that this style of music will be incorporated on his entry, saying that he would like to be sincere and authentic:

My idea is to go to the Eurovision Song Contest with my own DNA. I don’t want to lie, I want to be sincere and authentic. I don’t want to create a fake character.

In the same interview Mustii mentioned the importance of competing for Belgium and that the work starts now:

I will give everything. The idea is to be completely immersed in the performance, something flamboyant, glamorous. The Eurovision Song Contest is the ideal place for that. And the work starts now

Further information about Mustii’s entry for Eurovision 2024, is set to be revealed in due course.

Belgium’s Eurovision Journey

Belgium was one of the debutant countries at the beginning of the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1956. For the first edition, countries could submit two songs, and for Belgium that year, ‘Messieurs les noyes de la Seine’ by Fud Leclerc and ‘Le plus beau jour de ma vie’ by Mony Marc represented the nation. To this day we do not know the final results of Eurovision 1956. Belgium have taken part in 64 Eurovision Song Contests; however they have only ever won once – in 1986 with Sandra Kim singing the song ‘J’amie la vie’, scoring 176 points.

In 2023, Gustaph represented Belgium with the song “Because of You”. Gustaph qualified from the second semi-final, eventually finishing in 7th place with a total of 182 points. The juries awarded Belgium 127 points, whilst the televote gave 55 points to the performance.
