Belgian newspaper Le Soir has revealed that Mustii will reveal his entry for Eurovision 2024 on Tuesday the 20th of February.
How we got here
Mustii was announced as Belgium’s representative for Eurovision 2024 in August. It was previously revealed that his entry would be released sometime in February, but we now know the date: February 20th. Last month, Mustii invited the public to be part of his entry in a choir. The article from Le Soir reveals that 500 voices have been chosen to become part of the choir.
Belgium’s Eurovision History
Belgium was one of the debutant countries at the beginning of the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1956. For the first edition, countries could submit two songs, and for Belgium that year, ‘Messieurs les Noyes de la Seine’ by Fud Leclerc and ‘Le plus beau jour de ma vie’ by Mony Marc represented the nation. To this day we do not know the final results of Eurovision 1956. Belgium have taken part in 64 Eurovision Song Contests; however they have only ever won once – in 1986 with Sandra Kim singing the song ‘J’amie la vie’, scoring 176 points.
In 2023, Gustaph represented Belgium with the song “Because of You”. Gustaph qualified from the second semi-final, eventually finishing in 7th place with a total of 182 points. The juries awarded Belgium 127 points, whilst the televote gave 55 points to the performance.
