After a successful collaboration for Eurovision 2023, ORF, ARD and SRF have announced that once again they will collaborate on programming for Eurovision 2024, which will take place in Malmö, Sweden.
Pre-show and Aftershow to take place once again
The confirmation of the continued collaboration comes after the three broadcasters agreed on co-productions worth over €140 million. With the announcement, it was revealed that the pre-show countdown (which also took place in Liverpool in 2023) will take place for Eurovision 2024.
At the time of writing, all three broadcasters have confirmed their participation in Eurovision 2024. Austria will be internally selecting its Eurovision 2024 representative, Germany will be holding a National Final on February 16, and Switzerland will also be internally selecting.
The Journey to Eurovision 2024
Sweden will be hosting the 68th edition of the competition following Loreen’s historic win at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. One month after the 2023 contest took place, SVT revealed the Core Team that will be working on the competition.
Four cities were in the running to host the 68th edition of the competition (Gothenburg, Malmö, Örnsköldsvik and Stockholm), with SVT settling for Malmö as the host city. The competition will take place on the 7th, 9th & 11th of May at Malmö Arena.
