🇪🇸 Artistic Director & Vocal Coach for Sandra Valero’s Junior Eurovision 2023 performance revealed

As we get closer to Junior Eurovision 2023, RTVE has announced further information as to who will be working on Sandra Valero’s performance for Spain.

RTVE revealed that Javier Pageo as the artistic director, whilst Verónica Ferreira will be the vocal coach.

In terms of experience Javier Pageo worked on Karmento’s performance of “Quiero y Duelo” at Benidorm Fest 2023, as well as Rayden’s performance in the inaugural edition of the competition. Javier has also worked with Tanxugueiras , Melendi or Ana Mena, as well as Ruth Lorenzo.

Meanwhile Verónica Ferreira is a  singer, songwriter, former dancer and vocal coach, and have worked as a backing singer and dancer for Ana Torroja, David Bisbal, Raphael, Xoel López, Beatriz Luengo, Supersubmarina, Fuel Fandango, Isabel Pantoja, Soraya, Melendi, Rozalen and Sergio Dalma, and was at the Spanish Jury for Eurovision 2013, and has already released three studio albums.

Spain’s Junior Eurovision Journey

Spain has taken part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest a total of 8 times, with their first participation coming in the first edition of the Contest in 2003. In the initial Contest, Spain was represented by Sergio singing “Desde el cielo”, and at the close of voting Spain finished in second place, earning 125 points. Spain would go on to win the next edition of the show with María Isabel’s “Antes Muerte Que Sencilla”, finishing with 171 points.

Spain’s most recent participation was in 2022, when Carlos Higes represented the nation with his song “Señorita” in Yerevan. At the close of voting, Spain finished 6th in a field of 16 participants. Spain earned 137 points – 78 of which came from the online vote. The remaining 59 points were awarded by professional juries across Europe.
