AAustria’s Eurovision 2024 entry, “We Will Rave” by Kaleen, will release on March 1. Kaleen confirmed on an Instagram story that her song “We Will Rave” will be revealed on Friday March 1st, confirming media speculation from Austrian news outlet Kleite Zeitung she would release the song on that date.
Snippet Revealed
On her Twitter account, Kaleen revealed a 30 second of her entry “We Will Rave” with an accompanying link to pre-save the track. This has come after a snippet of her entry was leaked online.
Who is Kaleen?
Kaleen has been involved with Eurovision for Austria since 2018, initially as a stand in artist at rehearsals. She has also been involved creatively as the director for both Spain and Bulgaria’s performances at Junior Eurovision in 2021 in Paris. Last year she helped Austria, Armenia, Georgia and Germany for their staging in Liverpool. She was confirmed as Austria’s Eurovision entry last month.
Austria’s Eurovision Journey
In 1957, Austria made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest, where Bob Martin represented the landlocked nation with the song “Wohin, kleines Pony?”. At the close of voting, it managed to place 10th overall. Since their debut, Austria has participated 55 times (being in the final 48 times), and have won the competition on two occasions in 1966 and 2014.
For 2023, Teya and Salena were internally selected to represent Austria with their song “Who the Hell is Edgar?”. In Liverpool, the duo qualified for the final, where they went on to finish in 15th place with 120 points. Of these, 16 points came from the televote and another 104 came from the juries.
