Today, ORF has announced that Kaleen will represent Austria at Eurovision 2024. As well as being a professional singer. 29 year-old Kaleen is also a professional dancer. Kaleen has also been creative director for numerous Eurovision acts and countries over the years. Her song “We Will Rave” will be released in March. The song’s production will be led by Jimmy ‘Joker’ Thörnfeldt.
Who is Kaleen?
After the initial submission period, ORF whittled down the entries down to just 15. Now, we know that Kaleen was the winner of that process. Kaleen who is from upper Austria will represent the country with a techno-pop based track. Kaleen has been involved with Eurovision for Austria since 2018, initially as a stand in artist at rehearsals. She has also been involved creatively as the director for both Spain and Bulgaria’s performances at Junior Eurovision in 2021 in Paris. Last year she helped Austria, Armenia, Georgia and Germany for their staging in Liverpool. Upon selection Kaleen said the following to Eurovision.Tv:
“I think I haven’t fully grasped the fact yet, that I’ll be standing on that stage as an artist myself. I am in love with this world of lights and cameras and believe it’s a privilege to take the audience on a journey. I worked hard for this, and I am extremely proud. I am very looking forward to showing the world what I can do!“

Austria in Eurovision
In 1957, Austria made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest, where Bob Martin represented the landlocked nation with the song “Wohin, kleines Pony?”. At the close of voting, it managed to place 10th overall. Since their debut, Austria has participated 55 times (being in the final 48 times), and have won the competition on two occasions in 1966 and 2014.
For 2023, Teya and Salena were internally selected to represent Austria with their song “Who the Hell is Edgar?”. In Liverpool, the duo qualified for the final, where they went on to finish in 15th place with 120 points. Of these, 16 points came from the televote and another 104 came from the juries.
