Tonight, the second semi-final of Festival da Canção 2024 took place. This means that we now have all our qualifiers for the final next week.
About Festival da Canção 2024
Tonight’s semi-final was the second of two for Festival da Canção 2024, with the second due to take place on the 2nd of March. The final will take place next week on the 9th of March. The 20 artists taking part were split across the two semi-finals. 10 took part in each semi-final, with 6 advancing to the final. You can see the qualifiers for semi-final one here

Portugal’s Eurovision History
Portugal debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest with António Calvário’s “Oração” in 1964. Since then, Portugal has participated in the competition 54 times – appearing in the final 45 times. Their only win in the competition came in 2017 with Salvador Sobral, performing his heart-wrenching song “Amar Pelos Dois”.
Portugal’s most recent participation was with Mimicat with the song “Ai, coração”. Mimicat managed to qualify for the Grand Final and once there, she finished in 23rd place. She received a total of 59 points, of which 43 points came from the jury and 16 points came from the televote.
