Ahead of tonight’s reveal, Greek broadcaster ERT provided some hints about what to expect from Marina Satti’s Eurovision 2024 entry.
Marina Satti’s Journey to Eurovision 2024
Back in October, it was revealed that Marina Satti would represent Greece in Malmö at Eurovision 2024. After a lengthy selection process, it was revealed that she will sing “Zari” in May. In an Instagram post earlier this week, broadcaster ERT posted three emojis to do with her performance: the number 6, the fire emoji and the classical building emoji. The song will debut at 21:00 EET (20:00 CET/19:00 GMT) today.
Greece’s Eurovision History
In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 43 occasions (40 of which made the Grand Final). Greece has won once, in 2005.
Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw Victor Vernicos represent them with the song “What They Say”. Following his performance, Greece failed to qualify for the Grand Final, finishing in 13th place in the second semi-final in Liverpool. He earned a total of 14 points from the televote.
