Moments ago, Greek broadcaster ERT revealed that Marina Satti will be Greece’s representative for Eurovision 2024, which will see the broadcaster participate for the 44th time.
An internal selection for Greece
Marina was internally selected to represent Greece. Marina’s entry for Malmö is yet to be selected. ERT, alongside Golden Records and Minos EMI, a Universal Music Company, and Marina wished to have this option as open as possible, and therefore those who are interested in submitting an entry can do so by emailing ‘eurovision2024@ert.gr’ from October 25 to December 1.
Greece’s Eurovision Journey
In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 43 occasions (40 of which made the Grand Final), and have one once in 2005.
Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Victor Vernicos with the song “What They Say”. Following his performance, Greece failed to qualify for the Grand Final, finishing in 13th place in the second semi-final in Liverpool. He earned a total of 14 points from the televote.
