Eurovision in Malmö is now just over a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2024 journey so far. Next up, we will preview Lithuania’s 2024 representative Silvester Belt.
Silvester Belt’s Eurovision Journey So Far…
Silvester Belt was selected to represent Lithuania with “Luktelk” after winning national final “Eurovizija.LT. Late last month it was determined that Silvester will perform third in the first Eurovision Semi-Final in Malmö on May 7th.
Silvester Belt has been confirmed to be taking part in the London Eurovision Party on April 6th, as well as Eurovision in Concert on April 13th. Prior to writing Silvester also took part in Pre-Party ES24 in Madrid on March 30th. On March 9th Silvester also performed at Melfest WKND, not long after winning the Lithuanian selection.

Who is Silvester Belt?
Silvester Belt’s career started all the way back in 2010 when he was a child. Under his birth name Silvestras Beltė, he took part in the Junior Eurovision 2010 selection show, “Vaikų Eurovizija”. Silvestras competed in the competition with his song “Pi-pa-po”, he finished 8th in that national final.
In 2017, Silvester later took part in Aš – superhitas, which enabled him to move to London and release his debut single “Noise”. In 2018 Silvester returned to TV competing in the Lithuanian version of The X Factor where he made it to the fourth week of the live shows before being eliminated. Since 2017 Silvester has released 5 singles and featured as an artist on a further two. Silvester has amassed over 6 million in sales as an artist since 2017.
“Luktelk” was written Silvester himself alongside Džesika Šyvokaitė and Elena Jurgaitytė. Karolis Labanauskas and Linus Strockis composed the entry.
Lithuania’s Eurovision Journey
The Baltic nation made its debut at the Eurovision Song contest in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas represented them with the song “Lopšinė mylimai”, which placed 25th. Since then, Lithuania has participated 21 times and made the Grand Final 14 times. LT United gave Lithuania their best ever Eurovision result back in 2006, where the country placed 6th.
In 2023, Monika Linkytė represented Lithuania, participating with the song “Stay”. Performing in the second semi-final, Monika qualified for the final in fourth place. In the Grand Final, Lithuania finished in 11th place overall, with 127 points – 81 points came from the juries, with another 46 points from the televote.
