Who is Mustii?

Mustii is the stage name for Thomas Mustin, a 33-year-old singer and actor from Brussels. He has released two albums, “21st Century Boy” and “It’s Happening Now”. Alongside his singing career, he has acted in several plays and TV shows, including “Romeo and Juliet” at theย Thรฉรขtre de Liรจge, “L’Auberge du Cheval-Blanc” (The White Horse Inn) and “Je Voulais Juste Rentrer Chez Moi” (I’d just like to return home). He has also been a judge on Drag Race Belgique. Mustii was announced as Belgium’s Eurovision 2024 representative in August. His Eurovision entry “Before The Party’s Over” was written by himself, Alloysius Lloyd, Arianna D’amato, Benoit Leclercq, Charlotte Clark, Nina Sampermans and Pierre Dumoulin. It was produced by Benoit Leclercq, Pierre Dumoulin and Tobie Speleman.

Belgium’s Eurovision History

Belgium was one of the debutant countries at the beginning of the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1956. For the first edition, countries could submit two songs, and for Belgium that year, ‘Messieurs les noyes de la Seine’ by Fud Leclerc and ‘Le plus beau jour de ma vie’ by Mony Marc represented the nation. To this day we do not know the final results of Eurovision 1956. Belgium have taken part in 64 Eurovision Song Contests; however they have only ever won once – in 1986 with Sandra Kim singing the song ‘J’amie la vie’, scoring 176 points.

In 2023, Gustaph represented Belgium with the song “Because of You”. Gustaph qualified from the second semi-final, eventually finishing in 7th place with a total of 182 points. The juries awarded Belgium 127 points, whilst the televote gave 55 points to the performance.
