We will update this article with the TikTok and our reaction as soon as we get it.
Today the rehearsals for Eurovision 2024 start in Malmö. Countries rehearsing on Day 1 include Cyprus, Serbia, Lithuania, Ireland, Ukraine, Poland and Croatia. The sixth to rehearse today is Poland’s Luna.
Luna’s first rehearsal
The next to take to the Eurovision 2024 stage at Malmö Arena in Malmö was Poland’s Luna. Poland will be competing in this year’s competition with Luna’s entry “The Tower” following her internal selection by broadcaster TVP.
Following Luna’s first rehearsal, a clip of what went on was posted on the official TikTok account of the Eurovision Song Contest. The clip showed Luna before and after she took to the Eurovision stage for the first time, as well as giving us some insight into how well her first rehearsal went.
What did we learn about Poland’s staging?

LUNA is using her stage experience to the fullest for her performance. As per the official Eurovision live blog, she appears from behind two large neon chess rooks. LUNA starts out wearing a shiny red cape with pointy shoulders, which hides a long white dress with red horns underneath. Behind Luna in this piece of striking costuming are three faceless backing dancers dressed in white, red, and black respectively. During the performance there also is strong use of the floor LEDs, as LUNA at one point lies down and the visuals make it look like she is riding a red horse. And the final chorus closes off suitably dramatic as well, with firework jets firing around the stage.
What we thought of Poland’s first rehearsal
After Poland’s first rehearsal, Jazzi gave her initial thoughts on the snippet that we saw.
Who is Luna?
Luna, is the stage name for Aleksandra Katarzyna Wielgomas, she first started releasing music in 2018 under the stage name Ola Wielgomas. In 2018 Aleksandra released her first single “Na wzgórzach niepokoju”. The idea for the stage name Luna first came about in 2020 when she released the single also entitled “Luna”. Aleksandra says it came about as she feels a connection with space and nighttime.
Since 2021 Luna has released many singles alongside an EP entitled “Caught in the Night”. Later in 2022 Lunar went on to release her first studio album entitled “Nocne zmory”. Prior to releasing “The Tower”, Luna’s most well known single was her song “Lekko” which has already received over 100 thousand views on YouTube.
Luna will be participating at Eurovision 2024 with “The Tower” which was written by Luna herself, as well as writers Paul Dixon and Max Cooke, Paul also produced the track.
Poland’s Eurovision Journey
In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest, when Edyta Górniak represented them with the song “To nie ja!”, and placed 2nd, which is Poland’s best result at the contest to date. Since then, Poland has participated 25 times, qualifying for the Grand Final 16 times.
Poland’s recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Blanka, who competed with “Solo”. Performing during the second semi-final, Poland qualified for the final. At the close of voting at the Grand Final, she managed to place 19th with 93 points. Of these, 12 came from the jury, whilst 81 came from the televote.
