Polish broadcaster TVP announced today that Luna will represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden. Luna will be participating with “The Tower”, which they co-wrote alongside Fyfe and Max Cooke.

Poland at Eurovision 2024

Although Poland has held national finals in the past, TVP opted for an internal selection this year following controversy over last year’s edition of Tu bije serce Europy!. Many Polish fans speculated that their 2023 representative Blanka had been chosen by the producers before the show, with the national final having been rigged in her favor. TVP has denied any wrongdoing.

Upon the reveal of Luna’s selection, it was revealed that the Polish entry was selected by a five-person committee consisting of:

  • Łukasz Pieter  – Musical Director of Radio ZET
  • Michał Hanczak  – music journalist of Radio Eska
  • Kasia Moś  – vocalist, representative Poland at Eurovision 2017
  • Konrad Szczęsny  – journalist of viva.pl, President of the Association of Eurovision Song Contest Fans OGAE Polska
  • Piotr Klatt  – music journalist associated with Radio Dla Nasze and producer of music programs, deputy director. TVP Entertainment.

Each member of the committee ranked the submitted entries from 1-10, with the top three entries are as follows:

Poland’s Eurovision journey

In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest, when Edyta Górniak represented them with the song “To nie ja!”, and placed 2nd, which is Poland’s best result at the contest to date. Since then, Poland has participated 25 times, qualifying for the Grand Final 16 times.

Poland’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them represented by Blanka, who competed with “Solo”. She qualified from the second semi-final to the grand final, where she performed fourth.
