Following his experience at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö, Joost has released his follow up to his hit “Europapa”. Joost’s latest single is entitled “Luchtballon”. Alongside the single release, Joost has also released a music video alongside the single.

About “Luchtballon”

“Luchtballon” has a very nostalgic feel, while the dance and club elements are still there within the song like with “Europapa”, the song is somewhat more downbeat and calm. Like with “Europapa” there are elements of Joost singing and rapping in the song. Again like “Europapa” there is a message at the end of the song, this time in English.

Joost’s Eurovision Journey

Following a social media campaign after he expressed his active interest, Dutch broadcaster AVTROTROS confirmed Joost as The Netherlands’ representative for Eurovision 2024 in December 2023. His song, Europapa, which is dedicated to his late father, was released on February 29 with a premiere on a special editon of De Avondshow.

Joost Klein represented the Netherlands in 2024 with the song “Europapa”. While he was ultimately disqualified, he would have made it to the final, placing second in his semifinal with 182 points.
