🇪🇸 Spain / Sandra Valero performs Loviu at Junior Eurovision 2023

After receiving over 300 submissions, Spanish broadcaster RTVE announced that it will reveal the Spanish representative for Eurovision 2024 next week. This will take place on Thursday the 18th of July.

Over 300 Submissions for Junior Eurovision 2024

In a press conference for Benidorm Fest 2025, RTVE also revealed the number of submissions it received for Junior Eurovision 2024. The broadcaster received over 300 submissions, almost triple the number the year prior. In 2023, there were 114 submissions looking to represent Spain in Nice. This went to Sandra Valero, who eventually finished second in the competition to France’s Zoé Clauzure.

Announcement on July 18th

RTVE has revealed that it will announce its representative for Junior Eurovision 2024 next Thursday, the 18th of July. A selection of artists that sent submissions will perform at a final casting call two days before the announcement. This is the final step to determine Spain’s representative. The winning artist’s entry will be revealed separately at a later date.

Spain’s Junior Eurovision History

Spain has taken part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest a total of 9 times, with their first participation coming in the first edition of the Contest in 2003. In the initial Contest, Spain was represented by Sergio singing “Desde el cielo”, and at the close of voting Spain finished in second place, earning 125 points. Spain would go on to win the next edition of the show with María Isabel’s “Antes Muerte Que Sencilla”, finishing with 171 points.

Spain’s most recent participation was in 2023, when Sandra Valera represented the nation with her song “LOVIU” in Nice. At the close of voting, Spain finished 2nd in a field of 16 participants. Spain earned 201 points – 86 of which came from the online vote. The professional juries awarded the remaining 116 points.
