Today rehearsals for Junior Eurovision 2024 continue in Madrid. Countries rehearsing on Day 2 include France, Germany, Ireland, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and San Marino. The fourth country to rehearse today is San Marino’s Idols SM.
What did we learn about Idols SM’s staging?
Disclaimer: Please note that the EBU has not released footage from the first rehearsals, and that the description detailed in this article is mainly based from the pictures and if available footage from the delegations themselves.

We see all of the group members in matching outfits which consist of black leather jackets, white t-shirt, flannel shirts, and ripped jeans. The performance seems to be accompanied by choreography, as well as a variety of graphics in the LED screen, which consists of bright colors, and bright lighting.

Who are Idols SM?
Asia Ceccoli, Giulia Rinaldi, Giorgia De Scisciolo and Vera Stefania Olkhovskaya are Idols SM, the girl group representing San Marino this year. All the girls are between 11 and 12 years old. They all have different performing backgrounds and interests: Giulia has trained in several different dance disciplines, Vera Stefania loves hip hop and K-pop, Asia aspires to become a professional singer, and Giorgia wants to be an astronomer someday.
After a hiatus since 2015, San Marino announced their return to Junior Eurovision in early September of this year. SMRTV revealed Idols SM as their participants at the children’s charity event Sogna Ragazzo Sogna, where the girls performed “Come Noi” and another potential song, “Poesia”. The jury ultimately selected “Come Noi”, which was written by former Sammarinese Eurovision contestant Miodio. This will be San Marino’s fourth-ever Junior Eurovision entry.
San Marino’s Junior Eurovision Journey
San Marino made its debut to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with Michele Perniola and his entry “O-o-O Sole intorno a me” which placed 10th. San Marino participated two more times, with their last attempt in 2015 with Kamilla Ismailova and her song “Mirror” placing 14th. They then took a nine-year hiatus before returning in 2024.
