About “sto idej”
“Sto idej” (One hundred ideas) is about the opportunities that the comfort that the holiday season brings, such as hot chocolate, warm socks, wrapping up in a hundred blankets “like a burrito” and reading a good book in peace, something Zala loves to do, she even runs a YouTube channel about books! The song’s title comes from having “one hundred ideas about what the perfect gift for you is”.
As is traditional for one of their releases, the song was written and produced by the pair themselves, though this time alongside Zala’s brother Urban, who is better known in the DJ world as CHRNS.
What do we think?
If anyone knows how to make a song embossing the cosy comforts of the winter season, it’s the patron saints of Pinterest aesthetic couples themselves. The song strikes a great balance between Christmas sounds and the traditional Zalagasper lo-fi beat, the former being incorporated into the latter really well. The lyrics are really cute and endearing and, if you know Zala & Gaลกper, you know they’re living every word of this incredibly wholesome laid back tune.
Zalagasper’s Eurovision Journey
Zala Kralj & Gaลกper ล antl were the victors of 2019’s edition of RTVSlo’s EMA – winning a whopping 72.8% of the vote in the Superfinal against future Eurovision participant Raiven.
That earnt the pair the right to represent Slovenia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, where they qualified from the first semi final in sixth place. In the Grand Final, they earned 105 points, of which 59 came from the televote and 46 from the juries.
The following February, the pair served as the Slovenian jury in ESCZ2020, where they gave 12 points to Pam Rabbit’s ‘Get Up’.
