About “Her Hos Mig”
In fitting with their style of cheesy (and I mean that in a good way) 80s pop music Her Hos Mig is more of an easy listening number. Lyrically the song tells of Jesper singing towards his partner about how he wishes she were with him at Christmas. He details how the elements that are being celebrated at theoretically perfect, but are still hollow because the one he loves isn’t celebrating with him. The music video features the pair celebrating Christmas with a family around the dinner table, with Jesper quietly waiting for his partner. The video climaxes with said partner coming to the door to be excitedly greeted and welcomed to the Christmas celebrations.
What do we think?
Like virtually their entire discography they’ve firmly kept on the right side of the ‘perfect throwback’/’dated’ line, and created a song that feel like an instant classic. Quite a lot of more contemporary Christmas music for me is far too ‘in your face’ so the easy listening aspect to this one is perfect in my opinion. It’s got all the quintessential elements in it for a great and typical Christmas song, but Fyr og Flamme have still managed to make it sound like a fresh song.
Fyr og Flamme’s Eurovision Journey
Made up of duo Jesper Groth and Laurits Emanuel, Fyr og Flamme represented Denmark at the 2021 edition of Eurovision. The pair gained the right to represent Denmark after winning Denmark’s DMGP with Øve os på hinanden. Fyr og Flamme unfortunately failed to make it to the final, coming 11th in their semi final with 89 points. The pair continue to make 80s inspired pop music in style with their Eurovision entry.
