Eurovision in Basel is just over a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2025 journey so far. Up next, we will preview Norway’s Kyle Alessandro.

Kyle Alessandro’s Eurovision Journey So Far

In line with previous years, Norway selected its Eurovision 2025 representative via its selection Melodi Grand Prix, where Kyle managed to score the top marks from both the International Jury & Public Vote. It has been revealed that Kyle will be performing 8th in the first semi-final on May 13.

Norway will participate in Eurovision 2025 with “Lighter” which was written by Kyle Alessandro and Adam Woods.

Who is Kyle Alessandro?

Kyle Alessandro is no stranger to competitions, when he was 10 years old, he appeared in Norway’s Got Talent, where he managed to get the ‘Golden Buzzer’, going straight to the final. In addition to this, Kyle also participated in Norway’s Eurovision selection ‘Melodi Grand Prix’ with Umami Tsunami with “Geronimo”, which made the final.

Musically, Kyle has been releasing numerous singles, as well as releasing two albums ‘Første Kapittel’ in 2017 and ‘Evig & Alltid’ in 2023.

Norway’s Eurovision Journey

The Scandinavian nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960, with Nora Brockstedt and the song “Voi Voi”, which placed 4th. Since their debut, they have participated 62 times, and made the Grand Final 59 of these. In addition, Norway has won the competition three times – in 1985, 1995, and 2009.

Norway’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Gåte with the song “Ulveham”. After qualifying for the final, Norway placed 25th and last place in the Grand Final, receiving 16 points, 12 of which from the jury and 4 from televoters.
