Taking to the stage for his first rehearsal, Red Sebastian has revealed the creative team behind his Eurovision 2025 performance.
Creative team full of experience
In a press release, Flemish broadcaster VRT confirmed who would be in Red Sebastian‘s creative team. The team is full of previous Eurovision experience and is working to incorporate their expertise into Red Sebastian’s performance.
Yves Ruth has been cast as the creative director for Red Sebastian’s Eurovision routine. He already has extensive Eurovision experience, having been the creative director for Laura Tesoro in 2016. On top of this, he also served as a juror for Belgium in 2021. Together with Hans Pannecoucke, Alessandro Leën and Ignace D’Haese, these will work on creating the atmosphere for “Strobe Lights”.
Red Sebastian’s outfit, formed of a red leather suit with large shoulder pads, was designed by Bert De Coninck. Three backing dancers – Bruno De Rouck, Goran Tourenne and Hugo Gebbia – will join him onstage. Meanwhile, Lani Pellegrini will provide backing vocals off-stage.
Belgium’s Eurovision journey
Belgium was one of the debutant countries at the beginning of the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1956. For the first edition, countries could submit two songs, and for Belgium that year, ‘Messieurs les noyès de la Seine’ by Fud Leclerc and ‘Le plus beau jour de ma vie’ by Mony Marc represented the nation. To this day we do not know the final results of Eurovision 1956. Belgium have taken part in 64 Eurovision Song Contests; however, they have only ever won once: in 1986 with Sandra Kim and the song ‘J’amie la vie’, scoring 176 points.
Following an impressive seventh place in 2023, Belgium chose Mustii to represent them with “Before The Party’s Over” in 2024. Mustii scored eighteen points in the second semifinal, placing thirteenth.
What do you make of Red Sebastian’s creative team? Can they help to bring Belgium back into the final? As always, please let us know what you think by getting involved in the comments below.
