Elhaida, who represented Albania at Eurovision 2015, will return as artistic director for Festivali i Këngës 64.
Elhaida returns for a second year
She first took on the role during FiK63, where she was widely praised for giving the competition a fresh look and improving the quality of the shows.
The confirmation came via a video Elhaida shared on Instagram, where she also addressed future participants with a message:
“Don’t ignore inspiration when it arrives. Sit down, write, create with heart, with soul – make it Albanian, because we are Albanian.”
Although no official dates have been set yet, FiK64 is expected to take place in December, in line with previous editions. With RTSH confirming its intention to participate in Austria next year, it is expected that the festival will be used to select their representative.
Albania’s Eurovision journey
In 2004, Albania made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest with Anjeza Shahini with “Image of You”, which placed 7th in the final. Since their debut, Albania has participated 20 times, and made the final 10 times. They achieved their best result in 2012, where Rona Nishliu placed 5th with “Suus”.
Shkodra Elektronike represented Albania in the 2025 Contest in Basel with “Zjerm”. The duo made it to the Grand Final, where they ultimately finished in 8th place with 218 points. 173 of these came from the televote, while the remaining 45 points came from the jury.
