Yle has confirmed that it will not debut at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Why Finland says “no” to Junior Eurovision
Yle stated:
“Yle will not participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. This is due both to the relatively high costs and the competition’s value, which does not fully align with our understanding of the participation of children under 16 in singing competitions.”
The story of Junior Eurovision 2025 so far
Georgia will host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 after winning the 2024 edition with “To My Mom”. After initial doubts over whether Georgia would host the Contest, Tbilisi was confirmed to be the host city in May. No official list of participants has been publicly released as yet, but at least eighteen countries have submitted interest. Azerbaijan, Croatia and Montenegro will return to the competition, while Estonia and Germany will withdraw.
