1st. Akire – “Šiluma” (2.33):
What did some of our team members have to say about their favourite songs from EurovizijaLT?
Aleksi (Mes siekiam žvaigždžiyuy): I like 80s‑inspired sound, and because this track leans so clearly into that era, it pulls me in for the first twenty seconds almost effortlessly. After that initial hook however, it reveals itself as a fairly typical example of the kind of 80s styled pop we encounter every year. There are also moments that feel familiar in a more contemporary sense hints of Harry Styles’ As It Was surface in some of the melodic choices. So no, the song isn’t particularly original, but within this semifinal it still ranks among the stronger entries.
George (Šiluma): I really connect with the song’s vibe and sound. It feels ethereal, Akire’s voice is beautiful, and the 80s influence adds a lot of charm. I really hope it qualifies for the final.
Kittens (Sako): This kind of thing is always good for me – a low key banger with a trippy little beat – and although it wasn’t my total fave in the selection this week I do think given the right staging and work this could really have legs. While it’s nothing we’ve not heard before, there’s some good opportunity to serve some vocals and to really create some good atmosphere.
What is EurovizijaLT?
Lithuania has used a national final to select its Eurovision representative for all of its entries bar its debut in 1994. The national final itself has undergone frequent name changes and small format changes. From 2020 to 2023, the country used “Pabandom iš naujo!” (translation – We try again!) as its national final. Most recently in 2024, Eurovizija.LT was the name of the national final. There were 40 participants across 5 semi-finals, with two participants advancing to the final from each.
Lithuania’s Eurovision Journey
The Baltic nation made its debut at the Eurovision Song contest in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas represented them with the song “Lopšinė mylimai”, which placed 25th. Since then, Lithuania has participated 22 times and made the Grand Final 15 times. LT United gave Lithuania their best ever Eurovision result back in 2006, where the country placed 6th.
In 2025, Katarsis represented Lithuania, participating with the song “Tavo akys”. Performing in the second semi-final, Katarsis qualified for the final in sixth place. In the Grand Final, Lithuania finished in 16th place overall, with 96 points – 34 points came from the juries, with another 62 points from the televote.
