🇸🇪 Smash Into Pieces: “It would feel like doing the Olympics”

Ahead of their participation in Melodifestivalen 2026, Sweden’s selection for Eurovision 2026, Tim had the opportunity to speak with Smash Into Pieces, who are participating for the third time in the Swedish selection with their entry “Hollow”

During their interview, Tim and Smash Into Pieces talked about their return to Melodifestivalen and how they have evolved since last time. Tim has also brought along a little friend for them to meet.

Who are Smash Into Pieces

Smash Into Pieces is a four-member rock group made up of Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye, Benjamin Jennebo, Per Bergquist, and APOC. Formed in 2008, the band has released several studio albums, toured extensively around the world, and accumulated more than a billion streams across their catalog.

The band made their debut in Melodifestivalen in 2023 with their entry “Six Feet Under”, which made the final. They returned once again in 2024 with “Heroes Are Calling”, with both entries placing third.

Smash Into Pieces will be participating in Melodifestivalen for a third time with their entry “Hollow”, which was co-written by band members Benjamin Jennebo, Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye, Per Bergquist, alongside Philip Strand.

Sweden’s Eurovision journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).

In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
