ORF has officially revealed the stage for Eurovision 2026, marking a major milestone as the contest prepares to celebrate its 70th edition in Vienna.

A symbolic unveiling in Vienna

The stage was officially presented on 28 April, with Austria’s Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen taking part in the opening ceremony. This marks a key moment in the build-up to Eurovision 2026, as the production moves from planning to full-scale execution inside the arena.

A design built on contrast and identity

The Vienna 2026 stage continues Eurovision’s tradition of concept-driven design, built around three main visual ideas:

  • The Leaf → symbolising origin, creativity, and new beginnings
  • The Curved Line → representing movement, connection, and emotion
  • The Construct → a structured, golden framework balancing the organic elements

At the centre of the stage is a large LED “leaf” structure, forming the visual core of the performances and reinforcing the contest’s theme of artistic unity.

The stage is designed to maximise interaction between artists and audience, with key features including:

  • A walkway connecting the stage directly to the Green Room
  • A layout encouraging movement and “storytelling” performances
  • A Green Room inspired by a Viennese coffee house aesthetic

This setup suggests a more integrated and immersive show, where artists remain visually present even after performing.

All About Eurovision 2026

The journey to the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest kicked off immediately following JJ’s win in Basel, when Austria’s ORF accepted the rights to host the 70th edition of the contest. The bidding process started in June, with interested cities having until July 4 to submit their bid book. Innsbruck and Vienna were shortlisted, with the latter winning the right to host next year’s contest. 35 countries will take part in the competition, the lowest number of competing entries since 2004.

As for the organisation of the competition, the ‘core team‘ was revealed in June 2025, with further details about next year’s competition to be revealed in due course. The shows will take place on May 12th, 14th and 16th.
