🇨🇾 Eurovision 2026 Rehearsal One: Antigoni brings a big table for “JALLA” performance

Today, the rehearsals for Eurovision 2026 continue in Vienna. Countries rehearsing on Day 4 include Cyprus, Latvia, Denmark, Australia, Ukraine, Albania, Malta and Norway. The first to rehearse today is Cyprus’ Antigoni

What did we learn about Antigoni’s staging?

Antigoni has been teasing “dancing on the table” for weeks, but in Vienna, that idea is taken to another level. The table isn’t just a prop, it becomes the entire centrepiece of the performance, functioning as a stage within the stage.

It’s oversized, elevated and constantly in use. Antigoni and her dancers don’t just stand on it, they move across it, using it as a runway that drives the choreography forward.

As the performance progresses, Antigoni moves away from the table and onto the main stage extension. This is where the energy peaks, with added fire effects and pyrotechnics pushing the performance into full Eurovision territory.

Styling keeps things consistent with the overall vibe. Antigoni appears in a short, white, embellished outfit with a light, summery feel, while the backdrop features large architectural structures lit in blue.

Photos from the first rehearsal should be up about 24 hours after it finishes. We’ll update this article when they’re out.

Who is Antigoni?

Antigoni Buxton is a 30-year-old singer born in London, with Greek Cypriot heritage. Born to a famous Greek Cypriot TV presenter, Antigoni grew up in the British capital, though maintaining her ties to Cyprus throughout her formative years. She first gained attention when she was a contestant on Love Island in 2022, before becoming an influencer.

Cyprus’s Eurovision Journey

The Mediterranean nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981, where Island participated with the song “Monika” and place 6th. Since then, Cyprus has participated 40 times (33 of which where they qualified for the Grand Final).

For 2025, CyBC internally selected Theo Evan to represent them in Basel with the song “Shh”. Competing in the first semi-final, Cyprus failed to qualify for the final, finishing in 11th place with 44 points. This was the first time since 2022 that Cyprus had not been in a Eurovision final.
