Tim grabbed a moment to chat to Melodifestivalen legends Tess Markel and Martin Rolinski aka BWO vs Alcazar, before their performance on the Eurovision Village stage in Vienna.

In the interview, the duo talk about performing in the Eurovision village, their new music, and how they put together their live shows.

Who are BWO vs Alcazar?

BWO vs Alcazar is comprised of Tess Merkel, formerly of Alcazar, and Martin Rolinski, formerly of Bodies Without Organs (BWO). The two have multiple years of Melodifestivalen songs between them, with BWO participating 4 times, and Alcazar participating 5 times. Tess also participated solo in 2021 with her song ‘Good Life’.

The two teamed up starting in 2025, and have recently released their new single ‘Let There Be Love’. They will be playing at various festivals and events throughout the summer.

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song โ€œLilla stjรคrnaโ€ which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).

In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing โ€œBara bada bastuโ€. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
