🇦🇩 Andorra rules out participation at Eurovision 2027

Andorra has confirmed it will not be participating in Eurovision 2027. The micronation in the Pyrenees has not taken part in the Contest since 2009.

Andorra to miss another year

In an email sent to Eurovision blog Eurofestivales, RTVA confirmed it was not participating at Eurovision 2027. No specific reason for the decision not to participate was given to the outlet.

Recently, RTVA has seen a dramatic increase in its funding, reaching €6.2million in the past year. This could have been used to possibly fund a Eurovision participation. However, the broadcaster has not been using the funding for its programming and instead using it to fund personnel, with around two thirds of the budget being used for this purpose.

To add to this, the cost of participation is also high, which could put financial strain on RTVA itself. RTVA has also consistently said that Eurovision is not on its current editorial agenda.

Andorra’s Eurovision journey

The micronation of Andorra made their debut in 2004 with the song “Jugarem a estimar-nos” by Marta Roure. They have participated on six occasions, until 2009. They have not been present in the competition since. Andorra’s best result was in 2007 when the nation sent Anonymous to the competition with the song “Salvem el món”. Their last Eurovision entry was “La teva decisió (Get a Life)” by Susanne Georgi in 2009, which failed to qualify for the final.
