🇮🇹 Laura Pausini – “Desire (Official FIFA Anthem)”
Italian music icon Laura Pausini features alongside Nicole Sherzinger on Robbie Williams new Official FIFA anthem “Desire”. The Italian songstress is perhaps most famous in Eurovision circles as one of the hosts of the Contest in Turin in 2022, but the singer has actually had multiple appearances at the Festival di Sanremo in Italy, most recently as one of the hosts of the 2026 edition of the national song festival. “Desire” is hardly the greatest work in Laura’s catalogue, but it’s a sweet football anthem for this year’s FIFA World Cup. Laura is due to make an appearance at the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Sunday 19th July at the New York New Jersey Stadium, alongside Sherzinger and Williams.
🇬🇧 Sophie and the Giants – “Stripped”
British indie-electronic-pop singer Sophie Louise Scott made a name for herself with her band Sophie and the Giants in the Sheffield music scene in the late 2010s. She found major international success with Purple Disco Machine’s Italiano disco inspired track “Hypnotized”, which went triple platinum in Italy and double platinum in France after its release in 2020. Sophie has since left the other members of the band to go solo, whilst still using the Sophie and the Giants moniker. In 2022, she appeared on the Eurovision stage in Turin, Italy, as an interval act of the first semifinal with Benny Bennassi and Dardust. Sophie continues to have huge international success, and has amassed billions of streams across all of her tracks on Spotify. Latest release from the British singer is a 3-track, stripped back EP titled “Stripped”. It’s a beautiful collection of tracks from the singer.
