Fresh from performing for Belgium on the Eurovision stage in Vienna, Essyla has release her latest single “TRAUMA SHOW”. The latest release from Essyla is the singer’s first since performing “Dancing on the ice” at the Eurovision Grand Final in May.
About “TRAUMA SHOW”
Belgium’s Eurovision 2026 Grand Finalist Essyla has released her first single since performing on the Vienna stage. “TRAUMA SHOW”. The song is a fun mix of dark pop, piano ballad, and electro rap. Essyla sings and raps about the complications of human life and relationships and the trauma associated with people.
The track begins with the words “Life. Life is really hard” and that sums up the message of the song. While taking an upbeat, more jovial sound throughout parts, the meaning of the song cuts through. Posting on her Instagram, Essyla described the meaning of the song:
There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.
The song is written by Essyla herself, with help from Thibaud Demey, who has recently worked with fellow Belgian Eurovision star Mustii. The record is the first release from Essyla on the Ma belle production music label.

Essyla’s Eurovision history
ESSYLA is the stage name of Alice Van Eesbeeck, a singer born in Perwez in Wallonia, Belgium’s francophone region. Growing up in between Flanders and Wallonia, she showed a musical prowess from a young age, adopting her stage name as she was getting into the music scene. She first gained notoreity in 2020 when she competed in The Voice Belgique, finished second behind Jérémie Makiese, who would represent Belgium in 2022. Since then, she has released solo music, with her debut single being released one year later.
Belgium chose ESSYLA to represent the nation with “Dancing on the Ice” in 2026. The song was written by Alice herself, alongside Barbara Petitjean, Emil Stengele and Nicolas d’Avell. Competing in the first semi-final, Belgium qualified for the Grand Final, placing 21st and earning a total of 36 points, all of which came from the professional jury.
