🇵🇭 TES Ranks: Philippine Selection Night 2026

We at That Eurovision Site will be ranking the national finals in the lead-up to the inaugural edition of Eurovision Asia. The next national final that the team has taken a closer look at is Philippine Selection Night, which will take place on the 30th of August. The National Final will select the Philippines’ Eurovision Asia representative for Bangkok.

We ranked the songs taking part in the final, using a 1-10 ranking. 1 being our favourite, 10 being our least favourite song. We then calculated the average of all our rankings.

What did some of our team members have to say about their favourite songs from Philippine Selection Night?

Tom (Good For You): Good For You is everything I want from a guilty pleasure Eurovision song. It’s modern, exciting, well produced and is a polished finished track. For a song more on the ‘girl-bop’ side of things, the track is more intriguing than most other examples of this genre to me, mixing elements of modern dance music with a hint of UK garage, DnB, and old skool R&B. The elctro breakdown in the last minute of the song really excites me and I’m so intrigued to see how this translates to a stage performance. This is a song I would (and do) listen to outside of the context of Eurovision Asia. RYSSI should be a star!

Emma (Between, Bituin): “Between Bituin” is probably a bit poppier than what I’d usually gravitate towards, but the chorus got me almost immediately. It’s got such a great wee hook, and I love how the melody almost seems to twinkle, which plays beautifully with bituin and the imagery of stars. The strong beat underneath gives the whole song plenty of drive too. Perhaps the biggest endorsement I can give it is that it’s already made its way onto one of my fast driving playlists! If DNA can capture that same sense of energy and sparkle live, I think this could be really exciting on stage.

Samantha (Sobra-Sobra): “Sobra Sobra” is a perfect representation of what I was expecting from the Philippines’ national selection. Carmelle’s personality really shines through the song, I love the mix of languages, THE RAP insert shock emoji ok girl slay insert nail emoji. It has international appeal all whilst remaining true to Carmelle’s essence. I think this is without a doubt the Phillipines’ best choice. I cannot wait to see the staging for this because I have BIG expectations.

What we know about Eurovision Asia 2026

Early this year, EBU and Voxovation have confirmed the launch of Eurovision Asia, following its initial attempt to launch the format in 2017. The inaugual edition of the competition is set to take place on November 14 in Bangkok, Thailand.
