Nu Kör Vi: Over the past few weeks, entries have been submitted for Melodifestivalen 2027. Now that the submission period has finished, SVT has announced that they have received 4,077 entries for the upcoming edition of the competition.
Record number of submissions
This number of entries marks a record for Sweden’s national selection. It is also an increase of 189 submissions from last year.
Now that the submissions have closed, the competing artists competing in next year’s competition will be revealed later this Autumn.
Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2026, Sweden were represented by FELICIA, singing “My System”. At the close of voting in the grand final, she had received 51 points, finishing in 20th place. 35 points were given by the juries, while she received 16 points by televoters.
