French broadcaster France Télévisions has officially released the song “Comment Tu Vas ?”, to be performed by 12-year-old Alec at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Ta’ Qali.
About “Comment Tu Vas ?”
The song is a soulful pop ballad in which the piano, played by Alec, takes on a leading role. It starts with a melodic and soft rhythm before increasing in intensity and offering a powerful ending. The lyrics, completely in French, convey a strong message about the need for empathy and being there for one another.
Alec was selected internally by France Télévisions to represent France at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Malta.
Junior Eurovision 2026 continues to take shape
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 is due to take place at 21.00 CEST, on Saturday 24 October, live from the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali. Malta’s broadcaster PBS are hosting the contest for the third time, having done so previously in 2014 and 2016.

France’s Junior Eurovision journey
France made its debut at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. Represented by Thomas Pontier singing “Si on voulait bien”, France finished in 6th place, earning 78 points. However, the country withdrew from the contest, citing a ‘Eurovision overkill’. France would not rejoin the Contest until 2018. Since then, France has become a Junior Eurovision powerhouse, finishing in the top 5 in each of their four subsequent participations. France won the 2020 edition of the Contest, with Valentina singing “J’imagine”. In 2022, France won for a second time with Lissandro’s song “Oh Maman”, and subsequently won again in 2023, with Zoe Clauzure and the song “CÅ“ur”, making them only the second country to win Junior Eurovision three times.
In 2025, France scored its fourth victory with the song “Ce monde”, performed by Lou Deleuze, equalling Georgia’s record 4 wins at the contest. At the close of voting, she received 248 points, with 152 coming from the juries and 96 from the online vote.
