🇫🇷 Louane releases new single “mode avion”

French Eurovision star Louane is back with another new single ahead of her upcoming album “watch out”. The Eurovision 2025 representative for France has this week released the song “mode avion”.

About “mode avion”

Eurovision 2025 performer Louane is back with more new music, ahead of her upcoming album. The “Maman” singer has this week released new single “mode avion”. The track is an uptempo, French language, indie-pop track about taking time away from the wants of others, and putting yourself on ‘airplane mode’. The chorus of the track, when translated into English, reads:

They tell me: “Hello? Hello? Hello? Where are you? ”
I did like Sam, I put the airplane mode
I miss the calls, I won’t answer, I don’t care
Too bad if you think I take you for an idiot
They tell me: “Hello? Hello? Hello? Where are you? ”
But I’m like that, I put the airplane mode back
Need to be somewhere else when everything gets blurry
I prefer to leave, I can no longer go around in circles

The new single follows the release of “yeux” last month, and comes ahead of Louane’s upcoming album. The singer’s first full-length album release since her performance on the Eurovision stage, “watch out”, is due November 26th 2026.

The new single was written by Louane herself, with composition and production from SAM, who also provides backing vocals towards the end of the track. The single is a Secret Productions release, on license from Universal Music Group France.

Who is Louane?

French singer and actress Louane was born Anne Edwige Maria Peichert, in the North of France in 1996. In 2008, she took part in L’École des stars, a French music television competition designed to find young talent in the country. Louane lost both of her parents at an early age, dedicating songs and musical performances to both her mother and her father at different points in her career. Her first musical breakthrough in France came when Louane appeared on the second season of The Voice: la plus belle voix.

Louane dedicated a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” during her time on The Voice to her late father, who had died just months before her first audition on the show. The singer would make the semifinals, before just missing out on a spot in the final of the competition. Following her run on the show, Louane released her debut studio album, “Chambre 12”, receiving widespread acclaim in France. Louane has also had a career as an actor in the country, both in films and on television, as well as providing the French voice dubbing for many internationally successful animated movies.

Louane’s Eurovision journey

For the 2025 Contest held in Basel, Switzerland, Louane was selected internally to represent France. The singer performed her song “Maman” in the Grand Final, with France being an automatic qualifier to the Saturday show. At the close of voting in Basel, France would finish in 7th place, earning 230 points. Of these, 180 points were awarded by the international juries. The public televote allocated an extra 50 points to “Maman”.
