🇨🇭 Remo Forrer – “Reverie”
🇨🇿 Vesna – “Lidová”
🇵🇱 BLANKA – “dobry chłopak”
Poland’s Eurovision 2023 singer BLANKA became a viral success when the first sound of “Bejba” was heard in the Arena in Liverpool. The “Solo” singer has this week teamed up with Koder on her new single, “dobry chłopak”. BLANKA premiered the song at the huge Roztańczony PGE Narodowy 2026 concert to a crowd of over 60,000. This is a new side to BLANKA that I actually really enjoy, moving away from the pure pop and dance side to a deeper, darker, more interesting electro-rap-dance vibe. This is fun!
🇨🇾 Evridiki – “Onira Pou Kene”
Cypriot singer Evridiki has represented her country at Eurovision on three occasions (1992, 1994, 2007) as the lead artists, as well as several appearances as a backing singer, commentator, and even found time to perform at the 2008 Junior Eurovision as the singer of the theme song. Her best result in the Contest Grand Final is 11th, where she finished in both 1992, with the song “Teriazoume”, and again in 1994 with the song “Eimai Anthropos Ki Ego”. This week, Evridiki is back with new single “Onira Pou Kene”. The track is a big, arena-ready rock sound with a synth-pop sound in parts. I feel like the only way to describe this sound is HUGE. It gives a throwback to 70s rock and metal in the best way possible, but with, of course, a classic Evridiki flair.
🇳🇱 Jeangu Macrooy – “Vloed”
The Netherlands host entrant at the Contest in Rotterdam in 2020 and 2021 Jeangu Macrooy is back with a new release this week. The new single “Vloed” comes as he finishes a successful run on the Netherlands popular music tv show Beste Zangers, which sees popular musicians cover and reinterpret famous songs. The track is the first release from his upcoming album, which Jeangu says will be the singers first ever Dutch language album. The music video is also released already, and makes for a great watch. Jeangu says the track is about “falling, rising up, continuing and persevering”. The record has a slight 80s synth sound, with an indie-electronica-disco musicality to it. This is great from Jeangu, and I am definitely excited for the new album!
🇫🇷 Sébastien Tellier – “Loup (Remixes)”
Sébastien Tellier represented France in the 2008 Contest in Belgrade with the chaotic synth-pop track “Divine”. Surrounded by bespectacled and bearded clones, inhaling helium during the performance, and entering the stage on a golf buggy, Sébastien caused a stir in French media for performing his track mostly in the English language. The song would ultimately place 19th in the 2008 Contest. This week comes remixes of his single “Loup”. The Kap Bambino remix in particular is fun, bold and full of electronica. Perfect for a gaming session!
🇸🇪 Toussaint Chiza (Tusse) – “I’d Rather Burn”
Sweden’s 2021 Eurovision participant Tusse, who performed the track “Voices” at the Contest in Rotterdam, now releases music under the name Toussaint Chiza. This week, Toussaint has released new single “I’d Rather Burn”. The song is full of soul, funk and love whilst also having a more solemn, sorrowful message. If you can listen to this and not immediately want to move and vibe, you’re missing out. The lyrics to this explore acceptance, enjoyment and hedonism in a purist world. This is absolutely brilliant.
🇦🇲 Sirusho – “chem neri”
Armenian singer and performer Sirusho represented the country at the 2008 Song Contest in Belgrade with her big pop-dance hit “Qélé, Qélé”. She would eventually finish in 4th place with the song, securing one of Armenia’s best ever results in the Contest and became a fan favourite in the process. She has returned to various Eurovision events in the subsequent years as a guest, most notably the 2011 Junior Song Contest held in Yerevan as a guest performer, and as a surprise guest during the 2015 rehearsals to advise Armenian act Genealogy. This week, the singer releases new song “chem neri”. The track is a far cry from her Eurovision anthem, seeing her deliver a crips vocal over a piano pop-ballad sound. Beautiful.
🇦🇹 ZOË – “Einmal noch”
Zoe Straub, known to Eurovision fans as Austria 2016’s “Loin d’ici” singer ZOË, has new music. The singer has collaborated with a number of musicians on the EPOS – Die Rockoper project. ZOË has written the music for the rock opera musical, telling the story of the medieval legend Nibelungenlied, shown through the eyes of women instead of the usual heroes of the story. The latest track to come from the rock opera musical is “Einmal noch”. If anything, this really makes me want to take a trip to see this EPOS -Die Rockoper. This is beautiful, vocally, from ZOË and I can’t wait to see what comes of the musical.
🇦🇿 AISEL – “To Forget”
AISEL represented Azerbaijan at the 2018 Contest in Lisbon with the dance-pop song “X My Heart”. She just missed out on a spot in the Grand Final, placing 11th in the first of the Semis in 2018. She reportedly attempted to represent Azerbaijan again in 2024, entering a song into the internal preselection, but was ultimately unsuccessful. This week comes new electronic dance track “To Forget”. This has house and tech inspirations, and could also feel at home on the latest Madonna album, with a melodic house production as the song builds. This has to be one of my favourite tracks of the week.
🇵🇱 Cleo – “LECIMY”
Cleo represented Poland in the 2014 Contest in Copenhagen alongside Donatan with the song “My Słowianie”. The duo, with their infamous milk maid staging that is still parodied today, placed 14th in the Grand Final in Denmark, scoring 62 points. This week, Cleo has released a solo single, “LECIMY”. The track is a vibe, funk and horn infused pop-dance track. It’s sassy, fun and enjoyable.
🇫🇷 Les Fatals Picards – “À poil!”
French post-punk and rock band Les Fatals Picards represented their country in the 2007 Contest in Helsinki after winning the French national final show Eurovision 2007: et si on gagnait?. They performed the satirical rock song “L’amour à la française” in the final, eventually placing 22nd with 19 points. Their latest release comes as a collaboration between the band and Archimède on French language punk-rock track “À poil!”. This is really enjoyable, and would be a perfect movie soundtrack to a 90s Parisian teen movie.
🇪🇪 Elina Born (with Clicherik) – “Seksikas”
Elina Born represented Estonia in the 2015 Song Contest alongside Stig Rästa. The duo finished 7th with their duet “Goodbye To Yesterday”. This week, Elina teams up with two of the biggest names in Estonian electro, alt-pop and rap music this week, triibupasta, who is regularly cited as an artist fans wish to see in the Eesti Laul music show, and Clicherik, who took part in the 2026 edition of the Estonian national final alongside Mäx with their song “Jolly Roger”. Seksikas” is pure electro-trap. I find this great and incredibly infectious, but I also understand how this style of music isn’t for everyone. Elina’s vocal is undeniably great on this track, but the real selling point is the synth beat. It’s throwback, while still being new and fresh.
🇱🇻 Intars Busulis – “Deg Mans Ugunskurs”
Intars Busulis represented Latvia in the 2009 Contest in Moscow with the song “Probka”. He was unable to qualify for the final with his Russian language song, and placed last in the second of the semi-finals. He had previously taken part in Latvian national selections on numerous occasions, and in 2022, returned to the national final stage. With the song “He, She, you & me”, Intars joined Busans in the 2022 edition of Supernova, finishing in third place. This week Intars releases his latest album “Deg Mans Ugunskurs”. This record fused folk, funk, guitar rock, indie pop and ballad sounds in a really intriguing way.
🇲🇰 Kaliopi – “Laž”
North Macedonian singer Kaliopi has been selected as the country’s representative for Eurovision on three separate occasions. In 1996, she was the first winner of the North Macedonian national final Skopje Fest, earning the Eurovision ticket, but was unable to make the televise stage of the Contest that year due to the newly introduced pre-qualifying round, from which she did not progress. Over ten years later, in 2012, she was internally selected by MRT to represent North Macedonia at the Contest in Baku, reaching the final and making her Eurovision stage debut with the song “Crno i belo”, which eventually placed 13th. In 2016, She once again entered and won the national selection in North Macedonia, narrowly missing out on a Eurovision Grand Final qualification with the song “Dona”.
This week the North Macedonian music icon releases new single “Laž”. This track is moody, emotional and has a sense of desperation and power in the way Kaliopi delivers the lyrics. The music is at times, jarring, but not necessarily in a negative way. It’s uncomfortable because it isn’t supposed to be a warm hug of a song.
