🇸🇪 Oscar Zia – “tutto passa”
🇪🇸 Vicco – “Gaslighting”.
Vicco’s Benidorm Fest song “Nochentera” absolutely took over European pop in the summer of 2023. The song has since been certified octuple platinum, and has amassed nearly 170million streams on Spotify globally. In the following years, Vicco has continued to release new music, and maintains a following across Europe. The Spanish pop sensation has also been revealed as one of the acts taking part in Benidorm Fest 2027, although at present, it is still unclear if it will act as a national final for Eurovision, or as a stand alone competition, as was the case in 2026. Vicco has released a new track this week, in the form of “Gaslighting”. This is an electro-pop track with a thumping beat. I can’t wait to see what she brings to the Benidorm 2027 stage.
🇪🇪 Daniel Levi – “Apple Pie (acoustic)”
Daniel Levi has made several attempts to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest, most recently appearing in the 2024 Eesti Laul national final with the song “Over the Moon”. Earlier this week, he was announced as one of the acts competing in next year’s edition of the selection, with the song “Dust”. Also this week, Daniel has released an acoustic version of his recent song “Apple Pie”, with MISS MOLLY. This is a sweet version of a really good love song about longing for someone who can’t be nearby.
🇫🇮 Bess – “Mut mä pelkää en (Vain elämää)”
BESS competed in the 2022 edition of Finland’s UMK national final with her electro-pop record “Ram pam pam”, becoming a fan favourite in the process. She would place 3rd in the national final, behind Cyan Kicks and eventual Eurovision representatives The Rasmus (who also feature on this week’s round-up). Despite not winning the national final, “Ram pam pam” became a massive hit in Finland. It was the most streamed Finnish song of 2022, and broke records in the country by spending 19 weeks at number one on the Finnish Radio Airplay Chart. She returned to the UMK stage the following year and appeared as one of the interval acts alongside The Rasmus. For the 2023 Contest in Liverpool, BESS acted as the jury spokesperson, giving the 12 Finnish points to Loreen’s “Tattoo”. In 2025, BESS once again appeared as an interval act in the UMK national final, alongside Linda Lampenius, Keira and other Finnish icons.
BESS is currently taking part in Finland’s Vain elämää TV show, and this week takes on the music of iconic Finnish pop singer and songwriter Jippu. BESS joins Finnish rock band Kausti, infamous for their rock covers of already famous songs, on the release of “Mut mä pelkää en”. This is a song that slaps you round the face in the best way possible. With a calming and intriguing intro, the song builds to a great big metal anthem.
Vain elämää (meaning “It’s only life” in Finnish) is a popular Finnish reality music television series, where a group of well-known Finnish musicians live and record music together. Each show features the music of a specific member of the group, with the original artist listening and reacting to the new interpretations of their song. The final episode usually features duets or group performances. The show is an adaptation of the Dutch format De beste zangers van Nederland. The title of the show comes from the classic 1973 song “Vain elämää” by legendary Finnish singer Irwin Goodman. The show premiered in 2012, and has become one of Finland’s most successful and longest-running reality television programs, spanning numerous seasons and featuring dozens of Finland’s top recording artists. This week, the musical theme came from the hits of iconic Finnish musician Jippu. Jippu is a well known pop singer-songwriter in Finland, and entered the national selection for Eurovision herself back in 2008.
🇸🇪 My Marianne (Molly Sandén) – “Waiting for love”
My Marianne is the English language stage name and alter ego of Swedish pop star Molly Sandén. Molly has had a career-long connection to the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2006, she delivered Sweden’s best ever result in the Junior Contest with “Det finaste någon kan få”, which placed third. The artist has appeared 3 times in Sweden’s Melodifestivalen, placing 11th in the final in 2009 with “Så vill stjärnorna”, 6th in the final in 2016 with “Youniverse”, and 5th in the final in 2012 with “Why Am I Crying?”. Sandén was also the singing voice of Rachel McAdams character Sigrit Ericksdóttir in the Netflix film Eurovision: The Story Of Fire Saga. The film’s soundtrack album, on which Sandén is heavily featured, was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. The song “Husavik (My Hometown)” was nominated for Best Original Song at the 93rd Academy Awards. It’s safe to say, Molly is an absolute legend of the Eurovision community. Her latest single comes in the form of My Marianne track “Waiting for love”. This is chart friendly pop, with a big ballad aspect to it simultaneously. At just over 2 mins in run time, it’s a short, sweet cover of the famous Avicii and Martin Garrix track of the same name. The song was originally recorded by Molly for the new Coop advert in Sweden, stripping the big EDM song back into a more melodic ballad.
🇺🇦 ROXOLANA – “Хто любов цю вигадав?”
Vidbir 2022 is perhaps most famous for being the edition won by Alina Pash, before runners up and eventual Eurovision champions Kalush Orchestra replaced her as the ESC entrant. But ROXOLANA was also a fan favourite in the 2022 national selection. The Ukrainian singer placed 4th in the show with her song “Girlzzzz”, before going on to have a string of hits in Ukraine. This week, ROXOLANA releases new single “Хто любов цю вигадав?”, and it’s a really vibey, funky song, with folk and flamenco influences.
🇨🇭 Vincent Gross – “Cheerio”
Switzerlands Die Entscheidungsshow 2016 national final saw Vincent Gross place 3rd with his song “Half A Smile”. After a handful of recently release schlager apres-ski club anthems, and a spot on the German iteration of The Masked Singer 2026, Vincent has this week teamed up with Dj Aaron and Lorenz Büffel for the big sing-along club hit “Cheerio”.
🇸🇪 Albin Tingwall – “Everyday”
Albin Tingwall first burst onto the music scene in Europe as the runner up of 2022’s Swedish Idol. In 2024, Albin reached the final qualification round of Sweden’s Melodifestivalen with the song “Done Getting Over You”, which placed 7th and unfortunately didn’t make the final of the national selection show, but did make it into the Swedish charts after the contest. In recent years, Albin has released many tracks, including recent collaborations with FRÖKEN SNUSK (not FELICIA’s iteration of the musical project), as well as plenty of solo tracks. The new single from Albin is a perfect autumn / winter love song, soundtracking a rainy day thinking about someone you fancy.
🇪🇸 Roger Padrós – “Per Tu”
Roger Padrós competed in Spain’s Benidorm Fest national selection in 2024, with the song “El temps”. The latest single from the musician, “Per Tu”, is a bold, uptempo, indie rock track with a real sing-along vibe to it. This feels like the kind of track that would absolutely kill at a live concert.
🇩🇪 Faun – “Witches Reel”
German pagan-folk group Faun entered the country’s national selection for Eurovision back in 2015. They performed the hurdy-gurdy synth-pop track “Hörst du die Trommeln” during the Unser Song für Österreich national final, but were unable to take the win despite their vast popularity. This week, the group release new single “Witches Reel”, a real pagan-folk anthem.
🇪🇪 INGER – “SUWE”
Aside from being a successful singer, songwriter and football, INGER has also gained recognition for many appearances in Estonia’s Eesti Laul national final, most recently in 2023 with the song “Awaiting You”. The Estonian singer has released a number of singles so far in 2026, and this week sees the release of the “SUWE” EP. The EP includes a number of recently released singles, including the recent collaboration with fellow Eesti Laul participant elisabeth tiffany, “viib meid tuul”, as well as new tracks. My personal favourite track on this new EP is “August”. The song is a beautiful, country inspired indie/alt-pop track full of yearning and want. INGER sounds absolutely stunning on the whole EP, but particularly this track for me.
🇵🇱 Marcin Maciejczak – “Piosenki o miłości: nieopowiedziane historie”
Marcin Maciejczak has competed in both the adult, and junior selections for Eurovision in Poland. The singer placed joint third in the 2024 selection with his track “Midnight Dreamer”. The young Polish performer has also appeared in The Voice Kids in the country. This week sees him release his new “Piosenki o miłości: nieopowiedziane historie” EP. The 4 track EP is full of dark boy-pop sounds from Marcin, including the previously released singles “Jak się masz?” and “To nie koniec”, as well as 2 new tracks. Marcin really is one to watch in Poland, with so much style and talent.
🇪🇸 Yoly Saa – “El presidente de la compañía”
Yoly Saa entered Spain’s Benidorm Fest in 2024 with her song “No se me olvida”, but was unable to make the final of the competition. Ahead of her upcoming “Ojo de pez” album due in a few weeks time, Yoly has released the closing track of the record “El presidente de la compañía”. The song is a beautiful country-rock track with a really enjoyable, country guitar-heavy sound.
🇮🇹 Gigi D’Alessio – “PICCERÈ”
Italian singer and legendary performer, Gigi D’Alessio, has participated as a main artist in Italy’s Festival di Sanremo four times, and has also appeared as a guest performer on various occasions. His son, Luca D’Alessio (known as LDA), has also competed at Sanremo, most recently joining Aka7even earlier this year. Gigi made his first appearance in Italy’s biggest music festival as a competitor back in 2000 for the 50th edition of Sanremo, with the huge Italian hit “Non dirgli mai“. His most recent entry into the Sanremo festival came in 2017 with the song “La prima stella”. This week, Gigi has released his new single “PICCERÈ”, a beautiful love song dedicated to his young daughter Ginevra. This is sweet as heck.
🇱🇹 Beatrich – “Lifestyle”
Lithuanian artist Beatrich placed 3rd in the country’s national final in 2023 with the song “Like a Movie”. The singer has found a huge following across Europe, and has multiple songs which have amassed millions of streams on Spotify. This week, Beatrich has released her latest single “Lifestyle”. The song is a thumping, house-infused, dark dance-pop record. The accompanying music video is exciting and beautifully shot. This song is sonically, really nice to listen to. The tone of Beatrich’s vocal on this track is stunning, and the heavier beats in the backing track really complement the overall vibe.
🇸🇪 Felix Sandman – “Superteam”
Felix Sandman has appeared in Sweden’s Melodifestivalen show on a number of occasions. Making his debut alongside Omar Rudberg and Oscar Enestad in 2017 as the band FO&O, the group placed 11th in the final with the song “Gotta Thing About You”. Following the split of FO&O in early 2018, all three of the boys have returned to Melodifestivalen as solo artists in the subsequent years. Felix made his first comeback attempt immediately, in 2018, with the song “Every Single Day”. He advanced through the Andra chansen round to the final, where he eventually placed second behind Benjamin Ingrosso. In 2020, Felix returned to Sweden’s biggest music show once again, this time with the song “Boys with Emotions”. After progressing to the final through the Andra chansen round once again, Felix placed in seventh in the 2020 final of Melfest. This week, Felix has released his latest single, “Superteam”. Look, other people at ThatEurovisionSite know I’m a bit of a fan of FO&O, and the three lads individual work in the subsequent years, so I make no apologies for saying this is a great track. Alongside the new single, Felix has released the music video, shot in Vilnius, Lithuania, where he is currently based on a filming project. The track itself is a deep, electro-pop, indie-electronica sound, with PC vibes. I really enjoy this kind of music, and I really like Felix as an artist so this is perfect for me.
🇫🇮 Benjamin – “Se kuuluu kaduille (Vain elämää)”
Benjamin became somewhat of a fan favourite in the 2023 edition of Finlands UMK national final. The electro-gay-pop artist entered the show with his high energy, electro-dance track “Hoida Mut”, and despite only finishing 7th in the selection, the song had huge commercial success in Finland. The musician returned to the UMK national final the following year to host the show, alongside Pilvi Hämäläinen and Viivi Pumpanen. During the show, he took to the stage as an interval performer alongside fellow 2023 UMK artist KUUMAA, performing a mashup of their previous year’s entries. Benjamin is currently taking part in Finland’s Vain elämää TV show, and this week takes on the music of iconic Finnish musician Jippu, in the form of “Se kuuluu kaduille”. Benjamin’s said his reason for creating this version of the track is because the “world needs more love and less hate”. And this song is pure love.
🇪🇸 Lérica – “Sin Miedo A Nada”
Spanish pop duo Lérica took part in the 2024 Benidorm Fest national selection, with their song “Astronauta”. Following last week’s release of the single “Kisiera Yo Saber”, the duo have release another single ahead of their upcoming album, in the form of “Sin Miedo A Nada”. This has more of a Spanish ballad vibe to it compared to previous releases, with a deep, passionate tone, detailing how the duo are afraid of nothing. This is a really sweet track and I look forward to the new album in the coming weeks.
🇪🇪 Púr Múdd – “VÕÕRAD”
Estonia electronic music duo Púr Múdd have entered Estonia’s national selection for Eurovision on a number of occasions. They most recently featured in the Eesti Laul national final back in 2023, as an interval act, but had competed the previous year with singer Shira on “Golden Shores”. This week, the duo have teamed up with iconic Estonian rapper, producer and actor Reket for a new EP, “VÕÕRAD”. The title track from the EP, “VÕÕRAD”, is a dark, heavy, electro-rap track with a banging beat in the chorus. “LINNADE PÕLETAMINE” is a particular personal highlight from the new tracks on this project, with one of the heavier electronica sounds on the EP. Overall, this collaboration between Púr Múdd and Reket is really exciting.
🇬🇷 C:Real – “Epikindina Se Thelo (Dim Zach Remix)”
Greek pop-rock band C:Real competed in the 2015 edition of the Greek national final for Eurovision with the song “Crash and Burn”. This week, they release the Dim Zach remix of their 2006 hit “Epikindina Se Thelo”. The new version of the song takes a pop-rock track and gives it a disco-club spin, while keeping the C:Real Greek flair throughout. This is a great reinvention of an already great song.

Lepa Brena – “Jugoslovenka”
Iconic Yugoslav musician Lepa Brena twice entered the national final selection show for Yugoslavia. In 1983, she entered the national final Jugovizija with the song “Sitnije, Cile, sitnije”, where she placed 7th in a shock to fans at the time, launching her career into super stardom and cementing her as one of the most famous Yugoslav artists. As a pioneer of the turbo-folk genre, she returned to the national selection in 1986 with the song “Miki, Mićo”, which once again was snubbed by the traditionalist juries who disliked her modern folk sound, and finished in 10th place. She is now regarded as one of the last stars to come from Yugoslavia before the breakup of the country in the 90s and 00s. Now living in Belgrade, Lepa still makes music, and still finds huge touring success in the former Yugoslav nations. This week sees the singer re-release her single “Jugoslovenka”, along with two live versions of the track.
🇪🇪 elisabeth tiffany – “ÄFTEKAS”
elisabeth tiffany joined Eesti Laul veterans Minimal Wind back in 2022 with the song “What to Make of This”. After a positive Covid test, the band and elisbeth were not allowed to perform live in the 2022 Eesti Laul Grand Final, but remained in the contest, finishing in second place. This week she releases the new “ÄFTEKAS” album. Describing the album, elisabeth said “ÄFTEKAS” is her “love letter to those I haven’t seen in a long time; to those who are still left and to those who have just arrived at the party”. Personal highlights of the record include the title track “ÄFTEKAS” – an intriguing alt-pop indie song with a sweetness to it, as well as the collaboration with INGER “kordan ennast” – an indie track with a slight disco / party vibe to it, while still being quintessentially dark-pop. This is a great record start to finish from elisabeth tiffany, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for the talented Estonian musician.
