The Ukrainian electro-folk band is the latest addition to an impressive list of Eurovision contestants, with more names yet to be announced. The inclusion of Go_A followed an announcement by the band on Twitter that they are working on their touring schedule.
“Amsterdam, see you in December!”
On December 9th, 2021 the second edition of Het Grote Songfestivalfeest will be held in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. First held in 2019, it is a massive one-night celebration of Eurovision songs.
The line-up so far includes big Eurovision names like previous winners like Loreen (Sweden 2012), Netta (Israel 2018), and Johnny Logan (Ireland 1980 and 1987) and fan favorites such as KeiiNO (Norway 2019), Eleni Foureira (Cyprus 2018), and Verka Serduchka (Ukraine 2008). Go_A is the first of the 2021 acts to be announced, but with more names yet to come it is likely they won’t be the last.
Go_A competed this year in ESC with SHUM, placing fifth overall and second in the televote. Following their addition to the line-up, the band tweeted this:
Information and tickets for the event are available via the Songfestivalfeest website, by clicking right here. People in the Netherlands can watch highlights of the 2019 edition over at NPO Start.
GO_A’s Eurovision journey
The electro-folk group was initially selected to represent Ukraine for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Solovey”. However, the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. GO_A was internally selected to represent Ukraine for the 2021 contest with the song “Shum”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final, and place 5th overall with 364 Points.
