After taking a breaking this year, TVM has revealed that the third season of X Factor Malta is currently in the works. The news of the new season was revealed via X Factor Malta’s social media. Other than a new season is in the works, other details about the upcoming season is set to be revealed in due course.
Will X Factor Malta be used to select Malta’s Eurovision 2022 representative?
Since its inception in 2019, the competition was used, in order to select Malta’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2019, Michela won the competition and represented Malta in Tel Aviv with “Chameleon“, which qualified and placed 14th.
A year on, Junior Eurovision winner Destiny was set to represent Malta in 2020 with the song “All of My Love“. However, the contest was canceled due to the pandemic. However, a year later, Destiny represented Malta with the song “Je Me Casse”, which managed to place 7th in the final.
At the time of writing, TVM is yet to confirm their participation for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, due to take place in Italy, and whether or not X Factor Malta will be used to select their representative should they participate.
