A month after the conclusion of the Eurovision Song Contest, most fans are now looking into the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Particularly, who will be present for the 19th edition of the competition, Another country that would not be present for this year’s competition is Denmark; who confirmed to Eurofestivales that they will not be participating in this year’s competition.
Denmark’s non-participation would see them miss out on the competition, for the sixteenth year in a row. Denmark has not participated in the competition since 2005 when the competition took place in Haaslet.
What we currently know about the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest
After winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2020, it wasn’t long until it was revealed that the winning host nation; France, will be hosting the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. In May 2021, it was revealed that Paris will be hosting this year’s competition in La Seine Musicale on December 19.
At the time of writing, the following countries have confirmed their participation for this year’s competition

- Georgia
- Germany
- Ireland
- The Netherlands
- Poland
- Portugal
- Russia
Denmark’s Junior Eurovision Journey
The Scandinavian nation was the home of the inaugural edition of the competition in 2003, where they were represented by Anne Gadegaard with the song “Arabiens drรธm”, which placed 5th. They participated until 2005, which saw them represented by Nicolai and the song “Shake Shake Shake”, which ended up as Denmark’s best result in the competition to date.
