🇵🇱 Poland to reveal Eurovision 2022 artist on January 15th

Poland’s national broadcaster TVP has revealed that it will revealed its artist for Eurovision 2022 on January 15th, almost two weeks later than planned.

Schedule the postponement

Previously, TVP had said that their representative would be revealed on January 2nd, to coincide with the new year. However, according to Eurowizja.org, the announcement had been delayed as a result of scheduling conflicts.

Speaking about the delay, Eurowizja said that Poland’s participation in Junior Eurovision earlier this month would have influenced the reveal date for Poland’s Eurovision 2022 artist. Similarly, the broadcast of renowned Polish performer Sylwester Marzen could have affected TVP’s plans. Eurowizja also speculated that a possibility for the delay is the lack of a selected act for Turin, as well as the need for more time to perfect the chosen artist’s song.

Poland’s Eurovision Journey

In 1994, Poland made their debut at the Eurovision Song Contest, when Edyta Górniak represented them with the song “To nie ja!”, and placed 2nd (which is Poland’s best result at the contest to date). Since then, Poland has participated 23 times (14 of which was in the Grand Final). Poland’s recent Eurovision participation, saw them being represented by RAFAŁ, who competed with “The Ride”, where he managed to place 14th with 35 points from the Jury and televoters.
