A recent update to the Eurovision calendar has revealed information about the upcoming Latvian selection Supernova. Supernova will have two shows this year, a semi final and a final. The calendar update also revealed the dates of which these shows will take place. Supernova will select Latvia’s representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022.

Supernova 2022 details
In August it was revealed that Latvia would once again select their Eurovision entrant via national final Supernova. . 130 songs were submitted for the selection. LTV revealed that 130 was a record amount of submissions for their selection. In January the songs for Supernova 2022 will be revealed.
Latvia’s Eurovision Journey
Latvia made their Eurovision debut in 2000, finishing 3rd with “My Star” by Brainstorm. They have performed at every contest since and managed to win in 2002. Marie N sang “I Wanna,” scoring 176 points and bringing Eurovision to Riga in the process. Latvia also managed to finish in the top 10 two more times, in 2005 and 2015. Latvia’s most recent entry on the Eurovision stage was Samanta Tīna, who performed “The Moon Is Rising.” The song failed to qualify, finishing 17th in its semi-final.
