Ukraine ‘s presence at Eurovision 2022
Rai’s Simona Martorelli spoke about how the Ukrainian delegation is doing all they can to ensure they still participate in Eurovision 2022. Kalush Orchestra with their song “Stefania” were selected to represent their country. Since the selection, however, Russian troops have since invaded Ukraine, which has led lead to Russia not being allowed to compete in Eurovision 2022. Simona said the following about Ukraine’s preparations for Eurovision 2022.
“The Ukrainian delegation has confirmed its presence and has so far incredibly respected all the deadlines. It is also gearing up to make the back-up video of the performance, asked to all delegations in case problems arise and the delegation or a part of the delegation could not show up in Turin. They are having some difficulties but they are trying to achieve it, not in Kiev but in another city more on the border.”
