After selecting Ayana to represent them at the 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Paris; The Netherlands was one of the first countries to confirm its participation in 2022. Now, we know that the next Dutch representative will be selected on September 24.
Tickets are now on sale
Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has now opened ticket sales for the final, which will take place at the RTM Stage Ahoy, which has been the venue of the competition since 2020. AVROTROS members can purchase tickets for โฌ10, whilst Non-Members can purchase tickets for โฌ15 (which excludes the โฌ0.50 service charge).
Junior Songfestival 2022 currently taking place
At the time of writing, the Dutch selection has been taking place, with half of the finalists (Noor, Danny, Larissa, Sam, Lois, Luuk, and Luna) being revealed. The remaining finalists will be revealed on the official Junior Songfestival Youtube Channel this Friday.
The Netherlandsโ Junior Eurovision Journey
Being one of the countries that participated in the first edition in 2003, The Netherlands is one of the countries that have not missed a single competition, since its inception in 2003. They managed to win once in 2009 with Ralf Mackenbach and his entry โClick Clackโ, and a runner-up in 2011 with Rachel and โTeenagerโ.
In addition to their participation, the country has also hosted the competition twice. First in 2007, in the Ahoy Arena (the home of the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest), and the Heineken Music Hall in 2012).
In 2021, The Netherlands selected Ayana to represent them in Paris with the song “Mata Sugu Aล Ne”, where they placed 19th with 43 points from the Jury and the Online Vote.
