It was only a few days ago since LRT revealed the name of the artists competing at Pabandom iš Naujo in 2023. However, the broadcaster has announced that Lina Štalytė, who is one of the competitors announced has been disqualified from the competition.
Lina’s entry did not meet the rules
Upon the announcement of Lina’s disqualification, LRT revealed that their entry “My Body” was uploaded to Youtube in 2020, and therefore is ineligible for the competition and in Eurovision should it end up winning the competition.
With the announcement, the broadcaster has announced that Lina will be replaced by the group The PiXLS with their entry “Šaukt” (Call).
Pabandom iš Naujo 2023
The 2023 edition of Lithuania’s Eurovision 2023 selection, will have 30 entries competing to be the country’s next Eurovision representative in Liverpool. A maximum of five shows (2x Heats, 2x Semi-Finals, and a Live Final), with the selection starting on the 21st of January. The competing artists and their entries are as follows:

Lithuania’s Eurovision Journey
The Baltic nation made its debut at the Eurovision Song contest in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas represented them with the song “Lopšinė mylimai”, which placed 25th. Since then, Lithuania has participated 21 times and made the Grand Final 14 times. LT United gave Lithuania their best ever Eurovision result back in 2006, where the country placed 6th.
Lithuania’s latest Eurovision participation, saw them being represented by Monika Liu, participating with the song “Sentimentai”. Qualifying for the final, Lithuania finished on 14th place overall, with 128 points.
