The acts taking part in Ireland’s selection – Eurosong 2023 – have been revealed. One of these six artists will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
Details for Eurosong 2023 revealed
Each song was exclusively previewed on the Ryan Tubridy show on RTÉ Radio 1 on Monday morning. Snippets of each song were also played, averaging around 20 seconds per song. Tubridy also gave added details regarding Eurosong 2023, which is due to take place on February 3rd. It had already been announced that the in-house panel will not cast a vote. Instead, a national jury will join the international jury and the public vote will be used to determine the winning song. Six songs are to take part in the selection, being held as a Late Late Show special.

Ireland’s Eurovision journey
In 1965, Ireland made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest with Butch Moore and the song “Walking the Streets in the Rain”, which managed to place 6th. Since their debut, Ireland has participated 55 times (making the Grand Final 45 times), and has won the competition seven times, which is currently the record for most wins.
Ireland’s latest Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Brooke Scullion, with her song “That’s Rich”. She placed 15th in the semi-final, receiving 47 points from the jury and televote.
